Linking the tourism industry with local agriculture is crucial for poverty reduction in developing economies because the majority of their people depend on agriculture-related activities for survival (IFAD, 2003). The tourism industry has high potential to provide a worthwhile market for local agricultural produce in destination countries as it increases the share of the poor from the tourist dollar spent at the destination (Mitchell and Ashley, 2010).
