Many developing countries strive to embrace the tourism industry and link it with local agricultural produce as a means of expanding local markets which, in turn, contributes to economic development. Linking the tourism industry with local agriculture is crucial for poverty reduction in developing economies because the majority of their people depend on agriculture-related activities for survival (IFAD, 2003). The tourism industry has high potential to provide a worthwhile market for local agricultural produce in destination countries as it increases the share of the poor from the tourist dollar spent at the destination (Mitchell and Ashley, 2010).en_US
