Abstract
The mission and vision of the University of Dar es Salaam Library is to support the mission of the University as a central of excellence in knowledge and human capacity building and also the need of other researches, thought the provision of relevant and timely information (University of Dar es Salaam: 2000). The twenty first century academic library is an institution facing many challenges both from within and from without. Change is everywhere and constant. These libraries are facing additional pressure from dwindling book budgets and information explosion which is produced at an alarming speed. Whether the University of Dar es Salaam Library reorganization meets this challenge, is a moot question. This presentation will examine the cooperation between users and library staff in the context of the reorganization of the Library. Users in our context are: students, teaching staff, researches, administrator and government officials.
