Item Transparent Antenna Design for Wimax Application(2013) Azini, Alyaa S.; Kamarudin, Muhammad R.; Rahman, Tharek A.; Iddi, Hashim U.; Abdulrahman, Amuda Y.; Jamlos, Mohd F.A transparent monopole antenna operating at 2.30 GHz is presented in this paper. The radiating element and ground plane are both designed using AgHT-4, while the substrate is made of glass. The simulated and measured impedance bandwidths (BWs) are 41.89% (2.00-3.06 GHz) and 90.91% (1.5-4.00 GHz), respectively. These results were obtained by using a suitable arc-shape slot on the ground plane; and the BWs cover the IEEE 802.16e standard for WiMAX application in the 2.30 GHz band. The gain of proposed antenna is 3.16 dBi, and there is close agreement between measurement and simulation results, in terms of return loss and radiation patterns.Item Triple Band Planar Monopole Antenna for MIMO Application(2013-08) Iddi, Hashim U.; Kamarudin, M. R.; Rahman, T. A.; Abdulrahman, Amuda Y.; Dewan, R.; Azini, Alyaa S.A triple band planar monopole antenna for MIMO application is presented in this paper. The antenna array consists of two triple band monopole antennas with three copper strips, which operate at three frequency bands (2.4, 3.5 and 5.8 GHz). The antenna has been simulated using CST software and the prototype has been fabricated using FR4 substrate. The antenna provides the ¡10 dB bandwidths (BWs) of 308MHz (from 2.2275 to 2.5354 GHz), 472MHz (from 3.337 to 3.809 GHz) and 1.688 GHz (from 5.488 to 7.176 GHz) for 2.4, 3.5 and 5.8 GHz respectively. The antenna array achieve low mutual coupling of ¡22 dB at separation distance of 10 mm, which is approximately ¸/12. There is good agreement between the measurement and simulation results in terms of return loss and radiation pattern.Item Triple-Band Cpw-Fed Planar Monopole Antenna for Wlan/Wimax Application(Wiley, 2013-06-23) Iddi, Hashim U.; Kamarudin, Muhammad R.; Rahman, Tharek A.; Abdulrahman, Amuda Y.; Khalily, Mohsen; Jamlos, M. F.A triple-band planar monopole antenna is presented in this article. The antenna consists of three strips which correspond to operating frequency bands of 2.4, 3.5, and 5.8 GHz. The proposed antenna has been designed, simulated, and fabricated on 20 × 38 mm2 FR4 board. There is good agreement between simulation and measurement results in terms of return loss and radiation pattern. The proposed antenna provides measured −10 dB bandwidths of 200 MHz for the 2.4 GHz (from 2.36 to 2.56 GHz); 620 MHz for the 3.5 GHz (from 3.48 to 4.10 GHz); and 1.38 GHz for 5.8 GHz (from 5.65 to 7.03 GHz). Moreover, the antenna provides the measured gain of 4.73, 1.66, and 3.28 dBi for 2.4, 3.5, and 5.8 GHz, respectively. The radiation characteristics have proven that the proposed antenna seems to be a good potential candidate for WLAN/WiMAX applications.Item Triple-Band Cpw-Fed Planar Monopole Antenna for Wlan/Wimax Application(Wiley, 2013) Iddi, Hashim U.; Kamarudin, Muhammad R.; Rahman, Tharek A.; Abdulrahman, Amuda Y.; Khalily, Mohsen; Jamlos, M.
